An Industry with a Future |
|
Graphic communication is a vital industry that touches the lives of each of us through education, information, and entertainment. Consider the following:
- Nationally, printing employs a million people; has sales of over $170 billion; and consists of about 40,000 establishments. It ranks in the top 10 of each of these categories for manufacturing industries.
- Printing is one of the top 10 manufacturing industries in most states.
- In PGAMA’s territory, there are nearly 1,000 facilities employing almost 30,000 people.
- Most of these facilities have less than 20 employees, making printing very much a part of the small business community.
- Firms in the Metro Washington/Baltimore area generate about $4.5 billion in sales
