Mark your calendars NOW and plan to take part in this unique professional development opportunity. The Fall Management Conference will pave your way to a profitable future! Learn How to Control Unemployment Insurance Costs
Employers across the nation are already facing soaring unemployment insurance (UI) costs, and unfortunately, higher UI tax liabilities will not be limited to 2010. In addition, employers will have to contend with increased audit activities and more numerous UI hearings. That's why it's essential for business owners and managers to re-examine their UI cost management programs to more effectively deal with taxes and other costs.
Printing Industries of America is responding to this need by offering a new webinar, "Controlling Unemployment Insurance Costs." Led by Ronald Adler, a nationally recognized expert in unemployment insurance issues, this broadcast will address implementing UI cost management with discussion of:
*Federal and state legislative and political issues
*The strategic, financial, and operational issues of UI cost management
*Dos and Don'ts of completing UI claims forms
*Effective UI hearings techniques
*Q&A session about UI cost management
The webinar will be held Tuesday, June 22, 2010 from 1:00-2:00pm. Cost is $49 for PGAMA Members ($99 for non-members.) To register go to http://www.printing.org/node/6264
USCIS Issues New Green Card
Last week, the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Service announced a redesign of their Permanent Resident Card, (aka the Green Card). At least four new security features are included. The revised card is a direct result of serious counterfeiting. USCIS will replace Green Cards already in circulation as individuals apply for renewal or replacement.
Member Testimonial: Coyne Textiles
There's no better teacher than experience, and the experiences of other members serve as a great endorsement for PGAMA programs. Signature Printing, an Association member since 2003, shared this story of their experience with one of the newest PGAMA partners, Coyne Textiles.
"We switched to Coyne because the vendor we were using kept raising prices every two-three months. Then, the company came in a month or so ago and wanted us to sign a SEVEN YEAR contract. We refused to because seven years is far too long for a contract. Calls to the vendor when they raised prices again only resulted in a transfer to different offices, and a voice mail at the end of all that. A message was left asking for a call back which never came, so we started shopping for another vendor. We remembered that PGAMA had a program with CoyneTextiles, and when we left a message for them their response was a salesperson who stopped by our office that day!! The guy was really nice. What great service!!"
The Coyne Textiles program gives members discounts on services and rentals of shop towels, uniforms, mat rugs, dust mops, roll towels, and other related products. To learn more about Coyne Textiles, contact Michael Dinsmoor General Manager, at 617-792-2661/800-343-0566, or send an email to Michael.dinsmoor@coynetextileservices.com.
